This is my name...so far. Mom and Dad are working on it. I think the Tobin (aka Toby) is agreed upon because Dad found out that it is actually an old family name. But I know they are still hung up on the middle name. Dad's pushing pretty hard for Tobin Wan Konobe Chapman but I heard "I love you, honey, but absolutely not" so I think Mom is open to more suggestions.
Oh! and by the way, I weighed in at 9lbs and 21 inches of me arrived intact although I tend to remain in my 12 inch ball. But things seem nice and now that I know what all the racket's been about these past few months (something always leaning on Mom's tummy{Imean me} called "sisters"?) I plan on sticking around. Seems like it might be fun! Great family to come into!
TOBIN! A wonderful name. I came across the following in Daniel Mendelsohn's THE LOST: Taube=Toby=dove=peace. The book is his personal search for the lives of 6 relatives lost in the Holocaust who lived in a small Polish town - check with Janek for authenticity!
ReplyDeleteI love old family names. A few from my side of the family (none of which seem suitable!) but interesting nonetheless:
Bernard, Charles, George, Paul (Jim's middle name and my grandfather's), Travis, Logan Galbreath (owned/managed the Boston Bloomer Girls baseball team from 1905-1925). Michael (Daley) from the old country, and then there are the four Cornelius that I have tracked down, and Edwin Case (Colorado).
Much love to Toby and welcome to the world.
Barbara
Well now, let's see . . . when great grandma Babs mentioned Tobin, I immediately thought Tobin Michael Chapman . . . not that that is a thought-out suggestion.
ReplyDeleteHow about
Tobin Abel Chapman?
Tobin William Chapman?
Tobin Blaine Chapman?
Tobin Soupbone?
Tobin Harry Chapman?
Tobin Jerry?
I'd better stop or I won't
